Meet Our Team

Liz

Liz opened Button in 2012 after hunting for a career that was both family friendly and community-focused.  Now a mom of two young boys, Liz finds herself hunting, still, for the perfect life-work balance, peace and quiet, and a magic trick that will add extra hours to her day.

When she’s not catching up with customers at the shop, she can be found hiking with her boys around Portland, breathing through pigeon pose, and heading back to the grocery store, yet again, for that one thing she forgot.

Isabelle

Isabelle grew up in Portland a few blocks from Button, and although she recently has moved out to Southeast, she loves being able to still be a part of the North Portland community. When Isabelle is not at Button, she is hanging out with her family, hiking and flyfishing with her dog, Fran and partner, Ben, or watching The Great British Baking Show. Isabelle loves having a job where she is surrounded by a group of strong, smart, interesting, funny women.

Cybele

Cybele grew up in Virginia and Alabama and then drove herself across the country to the Northwest, where she met her husband and one really amazing black cat. When she isn’t at Button, she’s working on her fledgling acupuncture practice, deep in a fantasy/sci-fi novel, cooking a huge pot of soup, or off hiking in the Gorge (weather permitting).

She loves that Button is a gathering place for a bunch of amazing women, and she struggles not to spend her entire paycheck on vintage Eileen Fisher and/or plaid shirts.

Kerrie

Kerrie is is a recent graduate of the University of Portland originally from Oakland, CA. When she’s not at Button, Kerrie is usually trying to cook something without consulting a recipe first, watching Gilmore Girls for the seventh time, or hanging out with her pet tortoise, Russia. Her favorite part about working at Button is meeting so many women who genuinely care about each other and also getting to pick music to add to the queue.

Caitlin

Caitlin was born and raised in Alabama and made the journey to Portland for her college education. After majoring in Political Science and minoring in social justice and philosophy at the University of Portland, Caitlin is still discerning if graduate school is in her near future. During her free time, she goes dancing with her friends at clubs, unabashedly reads romance novels & self-help books, and babysits her niece.

At Button, Caitlin loves making customers and her coworkers laugh and smile; she is constantly inspired by the strong women she meets and interacts with every day.

Emma

Emma is originally from southern California, and she is currently a senior at University of Portland studying social work and social justice. When Emma’s not at Button, you can find her involved in immigrant rights work, in her kitchen attempting to improve her very basic cooking skills by trying out new recipes, or reading on her porch outside. She is excited about being a part of the Button community because of its welcoming and female-friendly environment, and because there’s always a hint of lavender and vetiver in the air.
