Meet Our Team

Liz opened Button in 2012 after hunting for a career that was both family friendly and community-focused.  Now a mom of two young boys, Liz finds herself hunting, still, for the perfect life-work balance, peace and quiet, and a magic trick that will add extra hours to her day.

When she’s not catching up with customers at the shop, she can be found hiking with her boys around Portland, breathing through pigeon pose, and heading back to the grocery store, yet again, for that one thing she forgot.

When she’s not at Button, you can find Emily writing miniature essays or long prose-poems, Facetiming her two nieces back home in Alaska, reading short stories too quickly to really remember them, or talking to her cat, Olive Juice.

She loves the tight-knit community that Button’s employees and customers have become, and the sense of excitement that inside every consignor’s bag, she will find another new treasure.

Cybele grew up in Virginia and Alabama and then drove herself across the country to the Northwest, where she met her husband and one really amazing black cat. When she isn’t at Button, she’s working on her fledgling acupuncture practice, deep in a fantasy/sci-fi novel, cooking a huge pot of soup, or off hiking in the Gorge (weather permitting).

She loves that Button is a gathering place for a bunch of amazing women, and she struggles not to spend her entire paycheck on vintage Eileen Fisher and/or plaid shirts.

When she isn’t cramming for an exam or writing 10 pages of her thesis in one sitting, Pearl enjoys cuddling with her cat Colbie, sipping on cappuccinos at Arbor Lodge, or watching 5 episodes of Downton Abbey in a row. Pearl is wrapping up her undergrad degree in history and German studies at the University of Portland. A fan of slow fashion and up-cycling, Pearl loves helping clothes find new life at Button!

Dorian is a soon-to-graduate English and Social Work double major and intern at Unite Oregon. When not at Button she is still drinking coffee, watching Twin Peaks instead of working on an assignment, working on her thesis, or combining poetry and beer. She loves being a part of the Button community through interacting and building relationships with customers, consignors, and coworkers — and not to mention fellow neighborhood shops!

When Isabelle is not at Button, she is flyfishing on the Deschutes, hiking with her dog, Fran, or studying for the MCAT. She grew up a few blocks from Button, and although she recently has moved out to the burbs, she loves being able to still be a part of the North Portland community. Isabelle loves having a job where she is surrounded by a group of strong, smart, interesting, fun ladies.
